Meet Dale
"Dale", as the residents of Carbondale, PA lovingly call him (which also stands for "Valley", being as they reside in the Lackawanna River Valley), is the alien who crash landed into the pond in 1974. He was born in our sun and has traveled the galaxy to find cooler places to explore. After the wreckage, Dale was rescued by the townsfolk. His ship was completely destroyed in the pond, and the only remnants of the crash was his friend Starbit (who was also rescued in the crash, as she was hiding in his lantern).
Dale has been a resident of the town since then. He lives in the mines, among the anthracite beds where it's nice and cold, with Starbit being his guiding light (in his helmet light lens). He sports the Carbondale High School colors and little embellishes of the sun, where he came from.
